I attended CIL 2007 for the first time this year and I’m still reeling from all the great information and ideas. This years theme was “Beyond Library 2.0.”

Use of the internet has shifted in the past few years. Before, users received information. Now, users are often generating information.

For example, five years ago people might recieve news articles online by visiting the webpage of a traditional news media outlet. Now, many people are generating their own content- including writing news stories. Blogs, wikis and social websites like Facebook and Myspace have made surfing the web a dynamic, interactive experience.

That dynamic environment is Web 2.0.

CIL 2007’s many workshops and presentations offered strategies for libraries to become a part of, and impact, this changing web environment.

Take a look at some of my links- many of these are from presenters at CIL 2007.
